Chinese Class Review 9/16/17

Basic Chinese - Pinyin 9 & 10. Tone Pairs and the compound finals I group and O group

Homework for this week is to practice tone pairs selected from the JW Language app. We noticed that many of you have problem with 2-3, 3-2, and some 4th tones combos. Please review the 2nd tone video and 3rd tone video. Be sure that your 3rd tone doesn't rise up as the 2nd tone does. We also noticed that for some reason many of you allow the first part of the tone pair affect the second part of the tone pair. For instance, many of you pronounce 2-3 as 2-2 or pronounce 2-2 as 1-2. Try to avoid it.

JW Language - Asking Questions

We learned about the question format of affirmative/negative such as 有没有，要不要，知不知道. We also learned about different kinds of questions in the JW Language app. This week's homework is to pick phrases out from the sections Have you ever wondered... and Did you know... . Also, write ten questions in Chinese in the form of affirmative/negative format. Please provide English translation for your homework.
